Transitioning Between Parents
Read this storybook to help your child come up with a simple routine on days they are going between homes.
Cuddle up close as you read the story together. You might even give kids a hug every time Nico gets a hug. Then, think of your own version of “two-hug day.” Ask, “What do you like to do when you say goodbye to [Mommy or Daddy]?” If kids aren’t sure, you can suggest a kiss on each cheek, a high-five, a fist bump, or an exchange of notes!
When you’ve settled on your own version, reread the story and replace the word “hug” with your new word(s).
